White Smoothie: Blaubeer-Acai | blueberry-acai

Saturday June 4th, 2016

White Smoothie: blueberry-acai

White Smoothies, the little brother of the popular green one. And the perfect addition.

Unlike their green relatives they do not contain any leaves, herbs etc., but healhty raw saturated fats: avocado, coconut fat, nuts, coconut butter (or for omnivores also eggs and raw milk butter)

In Germany the white smoothies have become very popular, especially because of a book called “befreite Ernährung” by Christian Opitz. In this book Opitz talks about the enormous health benefits of these raw fats: According to a reasearch by Weston Price the healthiest indigineous people in the world have one thing in common – they all eat a lot of raw saturated fats.

This version is my absolute favourite. We love it as a second breakfast (yes, we usually have two breakfasts… ). But it’s also great as a sauce on our buckwheat pancakes or even – for special occasions – on the mornig bowl!

For 2 big glasses:

1 good handful of blueberris (frozen ones work well, raspberries do the trick, too)
1 large banana
1 apple or pear
1 big Tbsp. acai powder
1-2  Tbsp. coconut butter (or more, according to taste)
1 small handful of cashews
1/2  tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 dash of maca (optional)
1 big Tbsp. raw cacao
1 dash of guarana
filtered water (depending on desired texture)

Blend briefly. Done.

The combination of acai, banana and vanilla tastes amazing.  The blueberries add the wonderful colour as well as some extra nutrients. The raw fats of the coconut butter is what makes this smoothie especially healthy. And I also like adding some maca, because the smoothie is so intense that you can’t even tell it’s there (which is good, since it’s not really delicious …)

Enjoy!
